Our Modeling, Simulation, and Training (MST) Division specializes in the full lifecycle of high-fidelity simulation and training systems and devices. From prototyping new systems to high quantity production programs, our employees are dedicated to providing our clients with leading-edge solutions.
We are actively seeking a Manual Machinist to support our Manufacturing division in Orlando, FL. The Manual Machinist will be Responsible for effectively and efficiently completion of all work on-time and to schedule. Continually seek out and communicate improvements that can be made in any area that will improve our environment and increase our effectiveness and efficiency.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Sets up and Operates Conventional Machines, Special-Purpose Machines, and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts, and fits and assembles machined parts into complete units applying knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, and layout techniques
Reads engineering documentation, drawings, sketches, manuals, specifications.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on Conventional Machines, such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors, such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts Conventional Machine controls or control media as required
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications using precision measuring instruments
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly, using jigs, fixtures, surface plate, surface table, hand tools, and power tools
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, height gauges, and gauge blocks
May develop specifications from general description and draw sketch of part or product to be fabricated
May confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
Uses inspection equipment to verify dimensions are within the tolerances specified.
Methodizes work in order to produce parts and assemblies to drawing requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be able to read and interpret engineering documentation
Must also be able and comfortable with handling small-diameter parts and have good knowledge of high-precision metrics and measuring techniques
Follow all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding
Maintain simple reports such as time sheets and work orders
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be able to stand for periods of 6 hours or greater
Ability to analyze and problem solve with the ability to quickly draw conclusions and make recommendations
Strong interpersonal communications (verbal and writing) required. Will interact and build strong working relationships with teammates at all levels; this is a fast paced position.
A comfort for an environment of discovery and uncertainty. This position is highly dependent upon regulations and changes issued by government or the corporate offices and these can be unpredictable. Capability to manage multiple ongoing projects and spontaneous preparation of findings and recommendations is necessary.
Ability to perform work, special assignments, and tasks under general supervision. Ability to work under pressure and may need to work outside of normal business hours as needed to meet project deadlines.
Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, and problem solving.
Manufacturing environment experience preferred.
Candidate must be able to obtain a US Government security clearance to project specific appropriate level, as required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
