Environmental Compliance Spec

Position Summary
Develops and maintains various management information record systems supporting accurate documentation and sustainment of all federal, state and local environmental licenses, permits, registrations and operating reports. Interprets, applies and provides technical guidance to support Orlando Health comply with provisions of environmental regulations and other applicable federal, state, and local codes, laws, rules regulations, specifications, standards, policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
Researches and maintains knowledge base current with applicable federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations including but not limited to; USEPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, USEPA Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act, USEPA Clean Water Act, USEPA Clean Air Act, OSHA 1910.120 Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response, USEPA Title 40-Protection of Environment, USDOT CFR 49 Part 100-185 Hazardous Materials Regulations, Chapter 62-730 FAC Hazardous Waste, Chapter 62.730.186 FAC Universal Pharmaceutical Waste, Chapter 62-761and 762 FAC Fuel Storage Tank Systems.
Conducts routine audits of Orlando Health facilities operations subject to environmental compliance requirements for validation and documentation of compliant operation; initiates action(s) necessary to correct any identified deviation(s) or violation(s).
Prepares and submits draft written technical reports and documents required for submission to federal, state and local regulatory agencies as required for compliance or sustainment of environmental licenses, permits, or operating reports.
Collaborates with Corporate Safety and other departments, as required, to investigate team member complaints concerning hazardous materials handling, exposure, or other concerns. Provides appropriate communication to ensure involved team member(s) and leadership are kept current and informed as to response status and any questions are addressed.
Develops, maintains and supports presentation of team member training programs related to hazardous materials and waste.
Supports and coordinates processes for collection, storage and shipment of hazardous materials and waste.
Interacts with the various environmental regulatory agency representatives supporting inquiries and on-site visits required for maintenance of and compliance with respective agency regulations.
Participates as assigned with Orlando Health leadership, committees, departments, and work teams to serve as a resource contributing to the organization's understanding, consideration and response to environmental compliance issues.
Anticipates and identifies emerging environmental issues of importance to Orlando Health; evaluates compliance options and recommends strategies to minimize impact(s) and cost(s) while optimizing effective control and avoidance of attendant problems.
Satisfactorily completes and maintains compliant with all U.S. Department of Occupational Safety & Health Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Environmental Protection Administration, and Florida Department of Environmental Protection, training requirements required for the Environmental Compliance Specialist position.
Maintains proficiency using computer software programs essential to efficient, accurate and professional management of position responsibilities including but not limited to; Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.
Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
Mentors and promotes professional development of the Corporate Safety Department Safety staff.
Education/Training
Associate's degree in Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, Chemistry, Biology, or closely related field.
Licensure/Certification
None.
Experience
Five (5) years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of Environmental Compliance.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
