Job Description The area: Web Application Development Vistana Signature Experiences' application developers create and maintain the systems that support delivering memorable vacation experiences. As the exclusive Vacation Ownership licensee of the Westin and Sheraton brands, we operate multiple business disciplines such as Design and Construction, Sales and Marketing, Banking, Customer Service and Association Management. The unique combination of these business areas demands unique technology solutions that you will have the opportunity to work on. You specifically would be responsible for the development of features that allow the members of our online community to capture, share and promote their vacation experiences and memories online with us, fellow community members and their social networks. The role: Social Integration Application Developer Our goal is to use technology to make it enticing but simple to connect and transact with us, on and off vacation. As a member of our web application development team you have the opportunity to bring new ways of capturing, sharing and promoting the vacation experiences and memories on different digital channels (web, mobile) to our online users. As we are working in an existing technology landscape that is not isolated from the fast progress in consumer facing technology, you will monitor emerging technology trends in the context of user generated content capturing, sharing and promoting as well as social media channel advancements and integrations and evaluate how they can benefit our digital channels. With your strong client and server side web application programming skills you will integrate user generated content flows across channels, systems and technologies enabling our members to share their contributions to our community and their social networks in simple and secure ways. The ideal candidate is a developer with proficiency in social media channels and integrations.
Responsibilities: - Participate in user experience design - Develop working prototypes quickly - Write client and server-side code for web applications creating robust and secure production systems. An understanding of, and practical experience with, web technologies, web development and social media integrations is a requirement. - Design, implement, and analyze transaction flows for User Generated Content (UGC) - Engage in system testing including unit, integration, regression, and performance testing - Debug application problems. - Provide technical support to resolve application and platform issues - Produce design specifications, assist with project planning, documentation and test plans. - Review functional requirements with team lead, and develop estimates - Perform and assume other duties and responsibilities as required by technology management Requirements - Undergraduate college degree or equivalent work experience, certification may be substituted for the educational requirement - Web application development with exceptional programming skills, ability to learn fast - 3-5 years DEVELOPMENT experience with Java, HTML, CSS, Javascript - Demonstrated experience with PHP/LAMP stack is a plus - Experience working with Creative teams to apply Brand standards (digital assets) - Experience with Amazon Web Services or other Cloud environments is a plus - Experience with mobile development (iOS) and server other side scripting languages is a plus Property/Location Orlando Operations Center/Corporate OEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
