Our client is a relatively new brand in the marketplace, whose leadership has 100 years of combined experience in the meetings and events world. In a short amount of time they've already proven that they are experts in site selection, project management, creative production, registration/housing management, education/program development, and event branding services is seeking skilled Business Development Directors.
Do you have experience selling a hotel/resort, destination, convention or association management services? Do you see yourself as a pioneer?
Our ideal candidates will have a successful background hunting/finding new business in any one of the following environments:

: Registration/Housing Management
: Trade Show Management

: And other related specialties in the meetings & events world
Your successful background, should demonstrate that you are:
1. Consistently a Top Performer
2. Capable of locating hidden business or finding business without being handed a lead sheet.
3. Have good organization skills and strong general office skills.
4. A Pioneer, who has at some point in their career been a part of creating something new, a rebranding of a product/service/destination/venue or some sort of major redevelopment within the meetings & events world.
5. Tough and capable of working in an environment where things are sometimes new and different.
6. Active in industry associations (FICP, HSMAI, EEMA, DMA, ACTE, MPI and others)
This position will require the Business Development Director to
work from their home with some provided resources and meet with leadership in Chicago on a regular basis.
The culture of this employer is that of a fresh, entrepreneurial, small yet building brand, who embraces team work and sets aside territorial or SILO feelings. Hours are flexible in that this role will require a minimum of 40 hours per week in order to do the job well, but they can be done 8a-4p, 9a-5p, or 11a-7.
