Air Care and Ground Transport Department Registered NursePosition Summary The Advanced Care RN administers patient care in an area in a hospital or inpatient setting where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient's medical condition. These areas require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills. Responsibilities o Serves as a clinical resource agent to unit for problem solving, within a given shift. o Ensures safe and timely patient flow throughout the facility and coordinates intrasystem transfers. o Participates in clinical observation and assessment for patients as needed to determine appropriate level of care/patient placement. o Completes documentation per shift for patient events and flow outcomes, proficiently operating the electronic health record o Serves as a resource for Orlando Health policy, procedure, legal and risk issues, and compliance with regulatory standards and accrediting agencies. o Demonstrates knowledge of current nursing practice, roles and functions of team members, patient care policies and procedures, and state and federal standards. o Uses data and other sources of evidence to inform decision making and to interpret outcome measures. o Supports a Zero Harm Environment and a Just Culture; responding and acting on safety recommendations o Ensures compliance with required standards and facilitate timely reporting of liability issues. o Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high intensity interventions, and high-level continuous nursing vigilance. o Utilizes information and assessment data to anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions. o Identifies and prioritizes information to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient focused action. o Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment used on patients, and interprets and records electronic displays, such as intracranial pressures, central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms from cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, oxygen pumps, etc. o Responds to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol. o Observes, monitors, and assesses patients' condition, recognizes, identifies, and interprets serious situations and calls physician or takes preplanned emergency measures when physician is not immediately available. o Assesses patient's needs and develops/revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses. Evaluates the patient's progress toward attaining expected outcomes. o Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers. o Functions as a patient and family advocate. o Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department. o Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, assesses the data reflective of the patient's status, and interprets the necessary information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs. o Coordinates the care and delegates as appropriate to other team members on a defined group of patients. o Documents patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful, and consistent manner meeting all required and regulatory standards. This includes but is not limited to patient assessment, education, medication administration, treatments, and patient safety. o Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and use of patient care/unit equipment as defined by unit/department-specific requisite skills. o Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care. o Practices effective problem identification and resolution. o Delegates tasks and duties to healthcare team members in accordance with the patient's needs and the team member's capabilities and qualifications. o Communicates appropriate information regarding patient condition or unit concerns to other health care team members. o Demonstrates caring practices by providing a compassionate and therapeutic environment for patients and their families. o Demonstrates awareness of legal issues and patients' rights. o Collaborates with the education department and nursing leadership team to effectively transition and support new team members and/or students. Qualifications Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Licensure/Certification Current professional license as a registered nurse in the State of Florida. National Certification in specialty area within 2 years. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
