97 an hour 18 hours ago 18 hours ago 18 hours ago Overview We are seeking a motivated, high energy, self-starter to serve in the role of Medical/Forensic Records Coordinator.
Performs work involving the coordination and quality control of all medical examiner records.
Receives and processes all medical examiner public records requests and complies with all county and departmental policies and procedures established for records management.
Work is performed under the direction of the Forensic Program Administrator Representative Duties Maintains chart flow for efficient and effective processing of medical examiner documentation in case files.
Maintains an accurate filing system to process public records requests, and is responsible for the correspondence and release of copies of such records in a timely fashion under the Public Records law and Florida statutes and regulations governing release of information as authorized.
Keeps abreast of laws and regulations pertaining to records and records retention of Medical Examiner documentation and with Public Records Laws.
Coordinates and performs the records archiving process with the County Comptroller's Records Management office as prescribed by policy.
Quality assurance functions include reviewing files prior to finalization, identifying and documenting any exempt or confidential status documentation when releasing records, and conferring with the forensic program administrator when necessary prior to responding to subpoenas.
Retrieves and organizes records for physicians in preparation for conferences, depositions, trials, grand jury sessions and hearings.
Performs various record keeping duties and data entry documentation as required.
Utilizes case/records tracking system and various other computer programs and applications in performance of duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree from an accredited institution in Health Information Management or Medical Records Administration.
Two years of working with Medical Examiner records and the release of such records at a Medical Examiner's office may substitute for the Associate's degree Preferences Six month's experience working with Medical Examiner records Notes Please complete each section of the application in detail as only information provided by the applicant regarding their work experience and education on the application will be used to determine the applicant's qualifications for the position.
