The gaming and technology specialist is a professional in healthcare who is responsible for management, utilization, and maintenance of child life gaming and technology resources.
The gaming and technology specialist works directly with patients and families to promote opportunities to engage in innovative activities including virtual reality, video gaming, robots, and other resources that promote positive coping during healthcare experiences.

The gaming and technology specialist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility to maintain relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you'll bring to the team:
Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth's service standards.
Utilizes industry knowledge to implement best practices on all applicable gaming systems, equipment, and emerging technologies.
Manages inventory of all child life gaming and technology resources and submits equipment needs including replacement items and new technology needs in a timely manner.
Maintains all child life gaming and technology resources including updating and uploading applications, ensuring all technology for patients/families is in working order including all necessary equipment to engage in game/activity.
Reports all equipment repairs to AIT and follows through until completion.
Installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and updates gaming systems and related peripheral equipment.
Interacts and teaches pediatric patients and families how to utilize gaming and technology resources and creates individualized technology-based projects including closed circuit programming that enhance patient experience and coping.
Promotes regular use of child life gaming equipment and technology and trains child life staff and volunteers to ensure daily patient/family usage of virtual reality, robots, video games, iPads, Vectas, and all other child life gaming/technology resources.
Orients, trains, and supervises all gaming and technology volunteers.
Develops and maintains relationships with other gaming and technology specialists, staying up to date and informed on new innovative equipment, applications, etc.

Collaborates with team members on research related to gaming system implementation and outcomes with relation to patient care.
Assists with coordination, involvement and support with hospital-related community and special events as they relate to the child life team.
Develops and maintains effective working relationships with child life peers and members of the healthcare team.
Maintains an organized and clean work environment, including playroom, workspace, and storage.
Collaborates with AIT team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to patient technologies.
Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to communicate with others in a clear and professional manner on the phone, in person and in writing.
Knowledge of gaming equipment including, but not limited to closed circuit programming, video production, video game systems, computer game systems, etc.
Experience and comfort in working with children and families of varying developmental ages and diverse backgrounds.
Ability to work on multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
