You Will Be Responsible For:
Demonstrates, through behavior, AdventHealth's core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork.
Receives billing inquiries from patients and other entities such as AdventHealth, AdventHealth Medical Group, NMDP, Florida Pathology Lab, etc.
Discusses any global billing or transplant-related claims with patients and involves them in the resolution of their balances.
Answers questions from patients regarding their billing states, EOBs and any patient balances, resolving billing problems and correcting accounts as appropriate.
Screens all patients that are possible transplant candidates in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Maintains department standards on screenings.
Screens patients who may not be eligible for a bone marrow transplant and directs patients and/or family members to a facility covered under their insurance.
On a weekly basis, works with the Global Billing spreadsheet with direct supervisor, and others as required, to ensure information is updated and correct.
Works the Global Billing process and procedure for accurate claims submission by the program's data entry clerks.
Maintains department standards regarding charge entry errors.
Works the aged trial balance reports which may include calling insurance companies to check claims' status; transferring balances to patient responsibility as appropriate; calling employers when additional information is needed; involving patient to resolve claims as appropriate.
Obtains medical records and other required documentation to assure timely payment of the account.
Checks to ensure all primary and secondary insurance are effective and in priority order to ensure proper billing.
Ensures open communication with appropriate entities regarding transplant account changes.
Verifies that all account adjustments meet department/Hospital guidelines.

Summary:
The Financial Coordinator is responsible for communicating with insurance companies, other payers, and patients, to ensure patient accounts are current and complete.
Makes financial arrangements for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) patients, FCCT and AdventHealth (ADVENTHEALTH), which may include processing account adjustments in support of the department and ADVENTHEALTH pre-established financial guidelines.
Works on global accounts with the Managed Care Global Department and the BMT Financial Supervisor.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
