The Gelato Production & Pastry Chef position at Vivoli will require working full or part time with more hours during the high season.
We offer a unique Pastry Chef position because you won't be working with pastry.
You'll be working with delicious gelato! We strongly request that our members be highly motivated with a good work ethic, and maintain the ability to adjust within a fast paced working environment.
Requirements for this position:
Previous food production experience.
Experience with ice cream, gelato, chocolate or pastries is prefered.
Ability to perform accurate arithmetic calculations Ability to accurately measure ingredients with a scale utilizing the metric system High attention to detail and understanding of beautiful aesthetic food presentation Experience managing inventory Excellent verbal and written communication.
Effective communication with staff and customers is essential.
Ability to understand and follow recipes and instructions Ability to plan and prioritize work Comfortable with responsibility In addition to the above management requirements, all employees of Vivoli are expected to meet basic team member requirements:
Be welcoming and friendly to all Must be at least 18 years old Passion for culinary arts Understand and maintain hygiene and public health standards and requirements Valid Food Handler's card Ability to work independently and to effectively manage own time Ability to work in a team having up front communication, conflict resolution skills, and to be respectful Skilled at cleaning- it is very important that we keep a clean, sanitized work environment at all times Clean and maintain proper function of kitchen equipment To care about our Vivoli community, to be able to speak up and be proactive in solving problems Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and early morning shifts as needed Ability to remain on feet for up to 8 hours, strong wrists for gelato serving and to occasionally lift up to 50 Lbs If you're interested in joining our team, please send us your resume with your previous and current work experience.
