Facilities Maintenance Technicians (Concrete, Drywall and Tile) at Universal Orlando are responsible for:
Maintaining Universal Orlando's resort buildings and specific work orders, including but not limited to: masonry, tile, pavers, and woodwork.
Responding to daily trouble calls from the dispatcher, and doing shop work on special projects at the direction of the supervisor or lead.
Framing and drywall, wood and metal studwork, floorwork including tile and laminate, and trimwork including various moldings, turnings, and laminate application.
Completing Dry-Vit repairs, including EFIS building systems, as well as repairs and finishing to various walk and roadways throughout the resort.
Performing routine inspections and maintenance on various locations, including theatres, restrooms, and offices.
Install and make repairs to interior wall and floor tiles and coverings made of various materials.
Install and make repairs to various commercial hardware, including but not limited to, door closures, panic hardware, mortis and cylindrical locks.
Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To perform the role of a Facilities Maintenance Technician (Concrete, Drywall and Tile) successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
High school degree or GED required. Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
Three to five years general carpentry and construction including framing, drywall, trim work, masonry, and tile experience required. Three to five years commercial roofing experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid Florida Driver's License is required to operate company vehicles.
Must be able to perform set up and operation of the table saw, radial saw, band saw, planer, forklift, high-reach, Bobcat, JCB/Lull, backhoe, concrete saw, and jack hammer.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
