Plant Operations, Logistics, Planning, Automation, Procurement and Supply Chain Finance Participate in projects that enhance an overall knowledge of the business Completion of the program will lead to long term roles as Plant Manager and other leadership positions within Supply Chain.
Major/Key Accountabilities Logistics Rotation:
Understand how our supply chain works.
How we interact cross-functionally and externally to deliver on our customer's expectations Gain experience at booking loads, track and trace, service center planning, pool customers, GLID's, Line Haul utilization, coding, fractional pallet analysis and other key areas of the function.
Procurement Rotation:
Gain understanding of how procurement plans and executes raw material inventory, orders, delivery, and support to ensure efficient inventory levels at all plant locations.
Acquire familiarity with Procurement Operations processes related to the completion of PO needs for the plants, and how they ensure timely and cost-effective purchases and achieve inventories are maintained at acceptable levels and KPI's.
Supply Chain Finance Rotation:
Gain understanding of how finance supports the automation of plant expense on all processes.
Understanding service center flows and systems as well as the related up and down stream processes impacting operation expenses.
Understand and monitor intercompany charges for CHEP supply chain.
Gain understanding and familiarity of our operational expenses.
Automation Rotation:
Understand programs and initiatives aimed at improving efficiencies and productivity in our plants.
Gain exposure and knowledge of Capex project management, on-site management of equipment implementations, plant equipment layout and scope development, process and plant optimization and risk assessment programs.
Operational Excellence Rotation:
Understand business process excellence and process improvement initiatives utilizing Six Sigma/LEAN methodologies Learn our key metrics across the organization to review past, current and future performance of business processes Conduct analysis of business processes across the organization, identify gaps in the business process, determine its impact to the organization, and recommend action plans and timeline to address these issues Collaborate with various functional areas to achieve optimal results in process redesign and implementation of new methodologies Identify barriers to implementation and develop and propose solutions that address both business needs and customer satisfaction Plant Operations Rotation:
Extended hands-on experience working in one of our plants, in the role of Supervisor or Assistant Plant Manager.
Ability to shadow and work with Plant Manager and TPM Leaders to learn best practices for Operations.
Gain understanding of production and shipping schedules based on availability of raw and finished goods.
Plant administration procedures to ensure compliance to established policies Develop understanding of cost performance of the Plant with the overall P&L of the Plant, as week as cost control initiatives and process control systems.
Review operations activities, including local transportation activities, and methods to maintain compliance with all Federal, State and local laws (OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD) Understanding of how driving efficiencies in asset utilization through proper transportation scheduling, dispatch, & driver management impact our ability to meet customer expectations Gain comprehension of consistent execution of all SOPs throughout the Plant in accordance with the PMS Commercial Organization, Global Supply Chain, as well as how to maintain critical quality and raw material utilization standards that are necessary to maintain customer satisfaction and Plant profitability.
Acquire familiarity with Lean opportunities to effectively eliminate waste.
