M-F, DaysThe community you'll be caring for Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year The role you'll contribute:
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides clinical assessment and care, within the scope of licensure and in accordance with trial protocols, FDA Regulations, and ICH/GCP Guidelines, for TRI research volunteers participating in Phase I-IV industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated/behavior focused clinical trials.
The APRN, under the supervision of the Physician, is responsible for performing study-related physical exams and follow-up assessments; ordering and interpreting study-related diagnostic tests (lab, imaging, ECG, etc.
); evaluating and treating adverse events; and performing study-related procedures.
The APRN communicates appropriately with volunteers and collaborates effectively with investigators, project managers, research coordinators, and other staff, thereby contributing to the efficient functioning of the TRI/CHR.
The APRN participates in internal and/or external training programs to stay current on industry trends and skills applicable to research and clinical care.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Appropriate counsels, referrals and orders as documented on the record.
Interprets diagnostic testing appropriately; refers abnormal results to physician for review when necessary.
Appropriately refers to supervising physician or other healthcare providers when needed.
Maintains an active presence in local and national chapters of professional associations.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
o If Nurse Practitioner - must have successfully completed undergraduate and Master's level-nursing programs, passed state boards, and achieved ARNP status.
o Individuals who completed their training prior to January 1, 2001, shall not be required to hold a Master's degree.
o If Physician Assistant - must hold a baccalaureate degree, or a minimum of two years of college credits, and have graduated from a physician assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), the successor program to CAAHEP o > 2 years experience in clinical or research practice KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
o Knowledge of clinical / translational research o Strong interpersonal & communication skills EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
o Experience in research environment LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
o Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification o Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification If Nurse Practitioner:
Must hold valid, current State of Florida advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) license Prescriptive authority for the State of Florida Must be certified by:
o the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) oro the National Certification Corporation (NCC) oro the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) If Physician Assistant:
Must hold a valid, current State of Florida physician assistant license If Physician Assistant--Certified (PA-C), must have taken and successfully passed the initial certifying examination by the National Commission on Certification for Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) PA-Cs must maintain certification by recertifying every six years through the NCCPA examination process o Including 100 approved CME hours every two yearsThe temporary state license issued to the graduated Physician Assistant is considered a valid/ current license until such time the Physician Assistant is a PA-CThis facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
