Principal Relationship Manager We strive to make Business Banking a simple and stress-free process for our members and our Principal Relationship Manager plays a key role in helping us achieve this goal by working with branch staff and business members by telephone, in person, email and mail to provide a positive member experience.
An outside sales / business development role at heart, the Principal Relationship Manager attends functions or networking events outside of the office to promote Addition Financial and cross-sell various products and services.
In this role, you will continually identify, develop and maintain a quality network of relationships that serves as a recurring source of referrals for new commercial mortgage lending opportunities.
Your network should consist of business owners, real estate professionals, builders, professional and personal contacts, as well as other valuable referral sources with the objective of maintaining and developing new relationships, increasing the loan portfolio, increasing credit union revenues and identifying current and potential opportunities for the credit union.
This person will provide personalized attention to all credit union business banking members in order to provide superior service, attract new members and increase the presence of the Addition Financial Credit Union brand in the community.
Interpersonal communication skills are vital in this role and experience in the world of commercial lending is required.
Other responsibilities include:
Identifying potential borrower referral sources and developing a robust referral network through marketing, phone calls, prospecting, and networking activities; Reviewing and interpreting credit bureau reports and cash flow analysis to explain underwriting decisions or recommendations on commercial loan applications submitted by business members; Provide monthly or bi-weekly reports to department management, which reflect current workflow levels; Provide guidance and instruction to credit union staff in regards to commercial lending questions and decisions; Assist department staff in efficiently and effectively processing the various activities involved in credit granting; Meet or exceed all loan, deposit and fee generation targets.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; Develop extensive knowledge of all customer businesses and their industries; Monitor, on an ongoing basis, information concerning customer performance, abilities, and industry to determine that the loan is an acceptable risk according to the Bank's credit policy; Performing other duties or assignments as assigned.
This position is eligible for a performance-based incentive plan Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Economics is required; a lieu of a Finance or Economics Degree, a Bachelor's in another field with a minimum of five years' experience in commercial lending may be accepted.
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills in order to work with members, business owners, community partners, and all levels of credit union staff and management.
Exceptional commitment to providing phenomenal member service.
Must be a team player, have the ability to work under pressure at times, have a professional image and be able to prioritize work and effectively manage time.
The ability to cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative interpersonal relationships with executive stakeholders and partners both internal and external to the organization.
Working proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must have a sound understanding of commercial lending and underwriting guidelines.
Highly-qualified candidates will also bring:
Demonstrated knowledge of banking / credit union operations, including understanding of the philosophy behind the credit union movement and concepts including membership eligibility, and credit union products and services.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) speaker preferred.
This position requires regular availability to work outside of standard business hours and the ability to travel throughout the Central Florida area.
Candidate must be able to operate a motor vehicle, have reliable transportation, and maintain a clean driving record.
This position does not supervise other employees.
